Preparation Before Applying

Before opening the D&B portal, ensure all of your business information is consistent across every document. The company name on the deed of establishment, NIB, tax identification number, and business cards must all match. Even a minor discrepancy can cause your submission to be rejected or require additional verification.

Also prepare accurate operational information: number of employees, primary business activity, year of establishment, and your currently active office address. This information will be entered on the form and may be verified by D&B.

Steps for Submitting a DUNS Application

Visit the official Dun & Bradstreet website and navigate to the DUNS registration page. Select Indonesia as the country and enter your company name to check whether it is already registered. If no record exists, proceed to the new registration form.

Fill in every field using data from your official legal documents — not informal names or abbreviations. D&B will send a confirmation email to the address you register. Make sure that email address is active and able to receive messages from the D&B domain.

  • Open the official D&B portal and perform an initial business name check
  • Complete the registration form using data from legal documents
  • Enter the name and title of the authorized contact person
  • Attach supporting documents if requested
  • Save your submission ticket number for status checks
  • Monitor your inbox for confirmation or requests for additional documents

Documents to Prepare

D&B does not always request documents at the outset, but they are entitled to ask for them for further verification. Commonly requested documents include the company deed of establishment, NIB, tax identification number, and proof of operational address such as a utility bill or office lease agreement.

All documents must be originals or verifiable copies. Documents that have expired or no longer reflect the current state of the company should be updated before the DUNS process begins.

What Happens After Submission

After the form is submitted, D&B will process the application and may contact you by phone or email for confirmation. Respond to those communications promptly to avoid delays. A DUNS number for a new registration is generally issued within two to four business weeks.

Once the number is issued, you will receive a confirmation containing the nine-digit number. Keep this information in a safe place because it will be used in various business verification processes, including submission to Google Play Console.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

Filling the form with a business name that differs from the legal document is the most frequent mistake. Other errors include using a personal, unprofessional email address, providing an inactive phone number, or failing to monitor the inbox after submission so that verification requests from D&B go unnoticed.

Do not register an entity that is not yours. The representative submitting the application must be authorized to act on behalf of that business and must be able to demonstrate that authorization if requested.
